I am descended from Mary Emaline Farrow and Andrew Stroud. They are my G- grand parents.  I believe that I have my Farrow line correct - Mary - Marion Levi - Thomas W. - John. However, I cannot find any information about Andrew Stroud. Any information about him would be very much appreciated. Mary is buried at New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn, SC. I hope to be able to drop in at the reunion.

I am a proven descendant of Col. Philemon Waters and Sarah Bordroyne through their daughter Sarah, sister to Rosannah Waters Farrow.  I have lots of autosomal dna matches to descendants of the Miles, Farrow, Bobo, and Yarborough families, but I can not make the link.  So I feel like I'm part of this family; I just don't know how. I suspect it is thru the wife of James Head b. Dec. 1767 whose surname is unknown. He was a boy soldier in the Revolution and served under Lt. Thomas Miles and then Capt. Waters.

What a marvelous website! My sister, Alice, told me about it. We're great-great-granddaughters of Rev. George Washington Miles; and great granddaughters of George Washington Miles, Jr.

It came to my attention when I was in college that GW Miles, Jr. established St. Albans Lutheran School for Boys in Radford, VA sometime around 1880. It was apparently quite the athletic prep school of the time for 10-20 years.

His son (our grandfather) George Holland Miles, Sr. went to Washington &  Lee Univ. in Lexington, VA around 1910. I am blessed to have one of his college yearbooks.

Our father is George Holland Miles, Jr., Virginia Tech '45. His class was graduated in '44, a year early due to the war.

Thank you for your wonderful website! It's nice to "connect the dots".

Thank you, thank you! I am a direct descendant of Landon Farrow. my lineage goes from Landon to Landon Waters, to William W to William M to Carlos W to my maternal grandmother, Gladys Auroa Farrow. If you have any documentation along that line that you are willing to share, I'd appreciate it. I am already mining this meetingofthemiles link that you published. Thanks again and hoping to hear from you.

My Husband is Thomas Ray Miles.  He is super excited to learn of his heritage.  The Miles tree is so interesting and we are thrilled to have found your site.  You have done an amazing job in organizing.  About 2 weeks ago we found Wiley Miles grave-site in Mt. Vernon.  Looking forward to taking photos for you and finding the ol' homestead.

Please e-mail me with any thing we can do to assist you .

I am so happy to have discovered this site.  The family tree does not show the daughter of Landon and Sarah Martin Miles who was my great grandmother.  She was Eliza Miles, born 1819, who married John T. Landrum.  She was widowed in 1854 prior to the birth of her youngest child.  She left Cross Anchor after the Civil War with a married daughter and her grown sons and died in Holmes Co., MS.  I grew up in MS but have lived in Spartanburg, SC since 1964 where I have done much research on the Miles and Farrow families.  Chapters on these families can be found in my book on the Landrum-Petty and Allied Families in the history room at the Spartanburg Co. headquarters library. Both of these chapters need updating.  I am looking forward to the Miles reunion next summer.
